Chief of Staff Job Description Template

Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO on strategic priorities, preparing materials for board and leadership meetings
- Own the operating cadence: leadership team meetings, OKR reviews, and all-hands
- Drive cross-functional strategic projects from scoping through to execution
- Serve as a communication hub between the CEO and the rest of the organisation
- Track OKRs, identify strategic gaps, and proactively surface risks to leadership
- Manage special projects and high-priority one-time initiatives as assigned by the CEO
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, operations, or a prior CoS role
- Strong executive presence and ability to represent the CEO in internal and external settings
- Excellent written communication: can write tight memos, board decks, and executive updates
- Superior organisational and project management skills
- High EQ: politically savvy, trustworthy, and able to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics
Nice to Have
- Background in management consulting (MBB) or investment banking
- Prior experience at a high-growth startup
- MBA from a top-tier programme
