Product Designer Job Description Template
A Product Designer owns the end-to-end design of product features — from research and ideation through to polished, shipped UI. They advocate for the user at every stage of development, balancing user needs with business goals and technical constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead design from discovery through delivery: user research, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI
- Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and analyse behavioural data to inform design decisions
- Create high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes in Figma
- Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers to ensure designs are feasible and well-implemented
- Contribute to and maintain the design system
- Participate in design critiques and give constructive feedback to peers
Requirements
- 3+ years of product design experience at a SaaS or tech company
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
- Expert proficiency in Figma
- Solid understanding of interaction design, accessibility (WCAG), and design systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous problems
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for data-heavy or enterprise B2B products
- Basic front-end knowledge (HTML/CSS) to collaborate effectively with engineers
- Background in design research or UX writing
