Product Manager Job Description Template
A Product Manager defines what we build and why by deeply understanding customer needs, market opportunities, and business goals. They lead cross-functional teams through discovery, scoping, and delivery to ship products that customers love and that drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the product roadmap, prioritised against customer value and business impact
- Conduct customer discovery: interviews, surveys, data analysis, and synthesis
- Write clear, well-scoped PRDs and user stories for the engineering team
- Collaborate with design on UX flows and with engineering on technical feasibility
- Define success metrics for features and track outcomes post-launch
- Communicate roadmap priorities and trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years of product management experience at a B2B SaaS company
- Track record of shipping successful products end-to-end
- Strong product intuition balanced with data-driven decision-making
- Excellent written communication: clear, concise PRDs and stakeholder updates
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Nice to Have
- Experience with HR tech, recruiting software, or workforce management
- Background as a software engineer or designer
- Familiarity with SQL and product analytics (Mixpanel, Amplitude)
