Sales Development Representative Job Description Template

A Sales Development Representative (SDR) generates pipeline by identifying, researching, and qualifying outbound and inbound leads. They are the first point of contact for prospective customers and set up qualified meetings for the Account Executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify target accounts and personas within the ICP
  • Execute personalised multi-channel outbound sequences (email, LinkedIn, phone)
  • Qualify inbound leads and route to the appropriate AE within defined SLAs

  • Hit weekly and monthly activity targets (touches, connects, meetings booked)

Requirements

  • 1+ year of sales, customer-facing, or outbound prospecting experience
  • High energy, coachable, and intrinsically motivated to hit targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot) and sales engagement tools (Outreach, Apollo)
  • Ability to research accounts quickly and tailor outreach to each persona

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling into HR, ops, or finance personas
  • Background in recruitment or HR technology
  • Prior SDR experience at a high-growth SaaS company
